Any question on food preservation you have can be answered by looking up this site. They test and try everything and give explain how to preserve food. This site will tell you how to can, freeze, smoke, ferment, pickle, and store food. It can tell you how to freeze bacon and how long it will last, can everything, and even exactly how to store your veggies from the garden. If you call the local extensions service and ask about canning they will send you to this site.
Take a few minutes and explore it and keep it as a favorite for future reference. The site is easy to navigate and you can quickly find any information you need. I found stuff that I did not even know I needed to know. Like how to design a basement storage room and how to to store home grown celery for 3 months. Even how much dry ice it takes to keep your freezer frozen and ideas to do with your thawed food.

Welcome
I'm finding that there is a lot of preparedness information out there that I want to share with my family and friends and very few opportunities to get everyone together to share the good info. So.... we'll give this blog thing a chance and see if this accomplishes the goal. If I can figure it out I'll be posting recipes, suggestions and links here to help you prepare your family for the days ahead. Please feel free to comment or ask questions and thank you for being proactive in your preparedness efforts. I promise you will be blessed for your efforts.
